Columns are available in poly-fiberglass as well as
wood. Poly-fiberglass columns come with a standard polystyrene cap
& base and are available either smooth or fluted. We typically
stock sizes ranging from 8" to 14" in diameter and from 8' to 12' in
height. If you need something larger, let us know and we can special
order it for you. Even though their shafts are hollow, they offer substantial resistance to deformation. An 8" diameter column can support up to 10,000 lbs top load. Structurally, they are among the most versatile verticle supports available. Their hollow centers make them useful as a channel for down spouts, wiring, and plumbing - Practices which are never reccomended with wood columns. Please call for availability and pricing. |
